How to Prepare
Spotting Guide

YOUR GREEN CLEANING COMPANY

We offer products formulated to be gentler on the environment. UPON REQUEST ONLY

Before our technicians arrive to service your carpets, we recommend the following

in order to ensure the best service experience:

How to Prepare for Carpet Cleaning

  • Please vacuum your traffic areas before we arrive, if possible.

  • Be prepared to show the technician the areas that require extra attention. If possible, tell the technician what caused the stain or spot.  The cleaning technician assigned to your job is trained in specialized spotting procedures.  He or she can evaluate spots and make appropriate recommendations.

  • Put away any obstacles that could interfere with the cleaning of the carpets, such as toys, cords, shoes, etc., so the technician can work more effectively and faster.

  • If an area that requires extra attention is underneath a piece of furniture, such as table, or desk, please clear off any objects that may fall off to avoid any unwanted accidents.

  • Like us to get deeper into an area?  Please clear off  as much space off the floor as possible. Please remove small pieces of furniture, such as dining room chairs, ottomans, and small tables from the areas you plan to have us clean.  Your cooperation helps us do a better job for you.

  • Put pets in a safe place to avoid scaring them during the service.

  • Please move as much furniture as possible from the areas to be serviced. The technician would only move small pieces of furniture. China Cabinets and the like cannot be moved unless completely empty.

  • We plan to secure floor length draperies on the windowsill or draper rod using hangers.  This procedure prevents the fabric from directly contacting damp carpets during cleaning and drying.  If you prefer that we do not handle your draperies, kindly perform this function prior to our arrival.

  • Please give us specific directions to your house when making the appointments.

  • If anything changes from the original scheduled service order, please notify us so we can plan accordingly.

What You Can Expect When We Leave…

  • CAUTION:  Walking from a wet carpet onto a hard surface can be very slippery.  We suggest placing an old towel onto the hard surface floor at the entrance to use to both remind you of the slippery floor and to use to wipe your feet on.

  • Until carpeting is dry, minimizing traffic on it helps to prevent re-soiling.  Even slight amounts of moisture can easily dislodge dirt from the bottoms of feet and paws.  You may still walk on the carpeting directly after cleaning; just make sure that whatever you are wearing on your feet is clean and not bare.  The natural oils from bare skin and paws will attract to the damp carpet.

  • Do not replace furniture onto damp carpeting until carpet is thoroughly dry.  Metal can rust and wood can transfer easily when carpet is damp.  We will place either plastic tabs under furniture when needed.  Please do not remove these until carpet is thoroughly dry.

  • Your carpet may remain damp for up to 24 hours.  Sometimes the outdoor weather may affect drying time if extremely wet or humid.  Providing circulation in cleaned areas will help with expedite drying.

  • After cleaning and drying, certain stains and traffic areas can become more apparent, if this occurs, do not be alarmed.  We do try to advise you ahead of time if we believe this will happen.  If you have any questions or other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Your assistance with these matters

is highly appreciated.
